One male complainant guided Task Force agents to the 'pick-up' joint where he got the commercial sex worker for a night of promised fun and excitement.
Within days, the male customer began to have a mouth infection later diagnosed as Herpes.
Task Force Chair Mayette Geremias in a radio interview warned the public anew particularly men who frequent the 'pick-up' spots to make sure that they are dealing with registered commercial sex workers. The registered ones are card-bearing workers who have government go-signal for a clean bill of health or at least clean of any sexually-transmitted disease.
The Task Force faces difficulty in the repeat violations of the freelance workers since under City Ordinance 330, those set to be fined or penalized are only registered workers. No law covers the freelancers reason why an immediate amendment is sought.
