Capiz garden and pet show nets P260T
Roxas City -- About P260,050 worth of garden and pet products have been generated by the "Garden and Pet Show" in line with the provincial observance of Small Enterprise Development (SED) week celebration last July 16 to 22.
These were the accumulated sales revealed by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Provincial Office from among entrepreneurs who participated in the week-long show. The participants included Small and Medium Enterpise (SME) Center, flowers and plants growers, handicraft producers, and Rebadulla Veterinary Clinic, among others.
Earlier, the blessing and opening ceremonies of the trade exhibit were graced by Capiz first lady Fatima L. Tanco, Roxas City Mayor Vicente Bermejo, DTI Provincial Director Rebecca Rascon, Capiz Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Inc. (CMPCI) Chairperson Sarah Pequierda, and other national government agency provincial heads and representatives.
The DTI has awarded four Capiz's most inspiring businessmen for their outstanding achievements in the field of entrepreneurship during the SED opening ceremony. The awardees are Agnes Barbasa Andrada of Pizza Junction and Both Ends business enterprise, Edgar Jaruda Sia II of Mang Inasal Restaurants, Jose Nery Ong of Twin Hearts Realty Development Corporation, and Nesta's Incorportated.
Other activities for the SED week include a motorcade, campus tours, cable television interview, and planning workshop for the abaca industry.
The Arroyo administration has included the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) development program among its flagship programs in bringing down to the Filipino people the benefits of the country's economic growth.
