The children of the Special Education and Integrated School for Exceptional Children (SPED-ISEC) showcased their talents in singing, dancing and the ability to recognize forms and rhythm in a rare talent presentation recently.

The event was one of the activities in line with the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week celebration.

This talent showcase wouldn't have been successful if not for the training given by Mary Gen Mahinay, Ma. Luisa Belandres, Renelita Sayno, Mary La Verne Iquiña,Gilbert Cang and Elsa Solas. Also worthy of mention are Cheryl Cang, a teacher for the mentally challenged and OB Dañocup, assistant administrator of the Children's Integrated School of Alta Tierra.

Dañocup stressed that for children to achieve success, their parents and the school should provide them access to everything.

Be supportive. Let kids make a choice. Let them be independent. Provide medical support. Give time. Give them freedom. These are the main efforts that everybody should undertake in order to make special children as productive members of the society, Dañocup said.
