First aid skills competition held in San Carlos City
Bacolod City -- The San Carlos City Disaster Coordinating Council (SCCDCC) in Negros Occidental celebrated the National Disaster Consciousness Month recently with a first aid skills competition.
The activity kicked off with a motorcade in the main thoroughfares of the city, followed by the First Aid Skills Exhibit and Pyrolympics.
The activities were aimed at increasing disaster consciousness drive awareness.
The first aid skills exhibit was demonstrated by local rescue volunteers from PNRC Bacolod-San Carlos Safety Services Instructors, San Carlos Rescue Unit, Organized Rescuer for Community Assistance Inc., and Rescue 711.
They performed basic extrication for vehicular accident and bone fracture injury accident scenarios.
The Bureau of Fire Protection facilitated the Pyrolympics, a skills competition with related disciplines on firefighting, participated in by volunteers from the Filipino-Chinese Chamber Fire Volunteers and other rescue groups.
The SCCDCC is promoting camaraderie and teamwork with all rescue and fire volunteers; support the initiative of the local disaster coordinating council in disaster mitigation and prevention.
