An alternative way of healing
Can herbs help people with cancer and other serious illnesses?
Yes, according to Bonifacia Lee, a herbalist behind the famous brand Vita Herb. The optimal goal of herbal medicine is complete reversal of the condition. If the disease is chronic, then herbal medicines can slow the progression of the disease. In less advanced cases, herbs can stop the disease from worsening. When cure is too late, herbs can help alleviate distress associated with the condition.
Herbs possess unique abilities to augment and maintain immune system, too.
"Do you know that HIV and AIDS have cure? But you can't get the cure from big pharmaceutical companies because they could not isolate the exact element and have it patented and distributed because the source is plant-based. They cannot patent what Mother Nature owns," she said.
Also a master reiki healer, Lee told The News Today that people should not depend solely on medicines being promoted by pharmaceutical companies because nature itself already provides cures to our ailments.
"I would like to raise the awareness of people that the antidote to our ailments are in the plants around us. Do you know that some of the compounds used in chemotherapy one could get from herbs?" she said.
Lee took interest in herbs and alternative healing when her mother was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver 12 years ago. "She won't go for the conventional treatment, so we resorted to alternative healing and now, she's still fine at age 74," she said.
Apart from wild crafting herbs, every Saturday and Sunday she is into rockhounding and the use of crystals. Crystals are known to emit energy that promotes positive well-being or absorbs any negative force that ails a person. In her healing, she combines herbs and crystals. She is also into distant healing.
"I tell my friends with cancer, 'Give me two to three weeks to heal you with my herbs and see the results'", she said. However, she advises that one should still work with a doctor while getting into herbals. "Do not self-medicate. The ailment should be diagnosed by a doctor. as most of the the herbal medicines might have drug interactions with prescription drugs for health maintenance."
She cited that doctors from the Cancer Society of Davao took interest on her herbal products that they are going to help launch these in the said city on August 19.
These products are Nina Barredo's Hair Grower Vita Herb for Alopecia or hair loss, Dr. Vonlec Nagtalon's Anti-Aging Vita Herb for vitiligo and poor memory, Magdalena O'Connor Anti-Cancer Vita Herb for bone cancer and breast cancer, Virginia Bucane's Dread Diseases Protection Vita Herb for Leprosy and Lupus and , Rosalia Asuelo's Anti-Hepatitis and Prostate Support for Vita Herb for HIV and Cancer of the Prostate, Boni Lee's Kidney and Liver Support Vita Herb for Kidney Stones and Cirrhosis of the Liver, JPM L EE'S LUNG SUPPORT for Cancer of the Lungs, MRV LEE'S SPLEEN SUPPORT for cancer of the pancreas and Rebecca Labrador's Colon Cleanser for Chronic constipation and Cancer of the Colon.
