Take two for Mejorada's appointment as SP tackles Syjuco's objection
Mejorada
Today's regular session will hear anew the "unfinished business" on the opposition filed by Secretary Augusto Boboy Syjuco, Director-General of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) relative to the appointment of former aide, Manuel "Boy" Mejorada.
Docketed as B-3-a, the matter was delegated to the Committee on General Services and Human Resources chaired by Fifth District Board Member Jesus Salcedo Jr with Mejorada still the governor's choice as Provincial Administrator.
To date, the SP body has not received any appointment for Mejorada with the governor's take on the issue stating that there is no need for any re-appointment.
Syjuco in his opposition further called that Mejorada's original appointment as Provincial Administrator be withdrawn.
"In the event that there is a need for the Governor to appoint Mr. Mejorada anew to the said co-terminus position and therefore the concurrence of this Honorable Body is required, such concurrence to the same be denied," Syjuco wrote in his opposition as filed before the 9th SP. "It is further prayed that this Honorable Body shall perform any and all acts within its power and authority to have the said appointment of Mr. Mejorada invalidated."
