Garin urges further review of hospital security deal
The Committee on Rules and Privileges, Ethics and Accountability of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan is seeking for more time to review and study the security services deal for a district hospital in the province.
This, as an easy yes was granted to an unresolved matter from the previous Committee on Transportation and Communication then chaired by Board Member Angelo Briones.
Subject of the first Committee Report under new Committee Chairman First District Board Member Richard Garin, the Committee opted to refer the security services deal to the Committee on Ordinances, Legal Matters and Inter-Government Relations and the Committee on Human Resources "for confirmation and ratification."
To recall, authority of the members of the 8th Sanggunian Panlalawigan (SP) was sought so Governor Niel Tupas Sr. can enter into a contract for security guard services. The deal was to have been inked between the Province of Iloilo and Illustrious Security and Investigation Agency.
After corresponding deliberation, the current Committee as tasked moved not to approve the matter.
Yet it was all systems-go for an Ordinance granting franchise to operate motorcycle for hire in Sta. Barbara, Iloilo. The Committee in a report presented yesterday recommended that said municipal ordinances "be duly approved."
