P105 T at stake for Clean and Green contest
The city government has alloted a total of P105,000 for the cash rewards of barangay officials and street sweepers who will be chosen as winners in this year's Clean and Green contest.
Mayor Jerry Treñas said the city will give the cash reward to the winners of the Clean and Green contest on September 10, 2007 during the weekly flag ceremony. The project aims to sustain cleanliness and beautification in each district.
Among those who will receive the cash prizes are Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) in each district, ABC president, Association of Barangay Kagawad and street sweepers from CENRO and GSO. The ABC, Association of Barangay Kagawad and representatives from CENRO and GSO will receive P25,000 each. The president of the ABC in the winning district will also receive a P5,000 cash prize.
Each district have already submitted their entries. The entries will be validated by a five-man committee. The validation committee is composed of CENRO chief Noel Hechanova, City Health Office chief Dr. Urminico Baronda, City Tourism Officer Ben Jimena, Helen Mestidio of the Department of Interior and Local Government Unit and Lapaz Parish Priest Fr. Rolando Haguisan.
All the entries will be validated by the committee on September 5-6, 2007. The team will particularly look into the cleanliness and beautification in plazas, markets, streets, islands and thoroughfares, said Treñas.
