Treñas selected for Mirant Leadership Fellows Program
Mayor Jerry P. Treñas has been selected join the Mirant Leadership Fellows (MLF) Program of the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) Mirant Center in Makati City slated middle of next month.
The intensive 1 year and a half year Fellowship Program offered to civil, public and private sector leaders aim to increase their capacity to achieve leadership goals in the context of the societal divides they seek to resolve. The divides these leaders are currently addressing should be about environment, energy and education.
After completion of the course, Fellows would learn to improve their ability to look at a problem, know its complexity and work on a collaborative response to address it.
"Being given the opportunity to become a Fellow of AIM-Mirant will certainly usher in new opportunities for the city. I was told that AIM faculty members will be tapped to give free advice on the divides that concern us and that Veteran Development Practitioners will visit the city to help us with approaches on the chosen divides. The city also stands to enjoy improved actions through AIM's connections to any international organizations that we may partner with," Treñas stated.
The mayor will give the city's concerns on education topmost priority.
Treñas was selected by the AIM based on a screening process held to choose the candidates. All candidates were requested thereafter to go through one-on-one and panel interviews for evaluation. Submitted documents detailing their leadership records were likewise made a basis by the AIM for selection.
Under the program, the candidates will be required to report to AIM for four to five days within a given month. The first session begins on September 18th and subsequent sessions will be conducted every six months. Only 10 Fellowship will be offered through a highly competitive nomination and screening process.
