CLO can't file cases vs. power thieves
The City Legal Office (CLO) cannot file cases against power pilferers in the city. Instead, it can only assist the Task Force Boltahe in the preparation of sworn statements and evidences recovered by the apprehending team.
This was clarified by Atty. Giovanni Miraflores of the CLO in reaction to reports that they do not take action on the apprehensions of the Task Force Boltahe.
Miraflores said under RA 7832 or the Anti-Electricity Pilferage Act the Task Force Boltahe is the proper party to file the cases against violators.
Miraflores said the CLO only reviews on whether there is merit in filing the case against the people caught having illegal connections in either the city's streetlights, day care centers, gymnasiums and public elementary and high schools.
Task Force Boltahe recently intensified their operations in various parts of the city in response to the call of Mayor Jerry Treñas to curb cases of power pilfering in the city.
