Treñas orders probe on accident involving city-owned motorcycle
City Mayor Jerry Treñas yesterday ordered City Administrator Melchor Tan to conduct an investigation over last week's accident involving a government owned motorcycle driven by a messenger detailed at the chief executive's office.
Treñas said he has no idea yet on what happened to messenger Raymundo Borda, a messenger assigned in his office. He could not say yet on what appropriate actions would be taken against Borda for using the city owned motorcycle during weekends. They are checking on whether Borda has a trip ticket even on Sundays.
Borda and his son John Paul were riding the motorcycle when it suddenly lost its brake and hit a Tata taxi at Magdalo Street in Lapaz. They suffered bruises on the different parts of their bodies and was brought to the nearest hospital for treatment.
With the recent accident, Treñas reiterated his order on the official use of government vehicles which starts at 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Treñas's recent order was only a reiteration of his previous order after President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has ordered all the local government units to exercise a cut on their expenses which includes the use of government vehicles and use of electricity.
