Neophytes cops undergo training on Counter Insurgency
These cops shall undergo PNP Modified SCOUT for
49 days as part of their mandatory training before
they will be deployed to the various pnp units in
the region.
Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 yesterday started the 49-day PNP Modified Special Counter-Insurgency Operations Unit Training (SCOUT) to 224 neophyte police officers.
The PNP Modified Scout is intended to enhance the skills and capability of police personnel particularly in the field of combat operations against the insurgents. It is mandatory to all police personnel, except for some medical reasons that would exempt one from undergoing a highly rigorous physical exercise.
Belonging to PNP Modified SCOUT Class 11-2007, this batch has 37 female police. They will be under the direct supervision of the Course Director, Police Senior Calvin Cuyag with the support of Police Inspector Joseph Almequer, Assistant Course Director and 19 Assistant Instructors (AI's).
"The Internal Security Operations (ISO) is a concern of the police, hence every PNP personnel must be trained for the purpose," Police Regional Director Chief Superintendent Wilfredo V Dulay Sr stressed during the opening ceremony at Camp Delgado.
This batch is composed of 205 newly graduates of Police Basic Field Training Program (PBFTP) at the Regional Training School 6 in Bacolod City last September 6, 2007 and 19 PO1's who deferred from the previous batch of SCOUT trainees.
