PRO 6 welcomes applicants in police service
Contrary to prior announcement, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 still welcomes applicants to police service. To date, about 500 young professionals have already submitted documentary requirements hoping to qualify in this year's recruitment quota for Western Visayas.
PRO 6 director Chief Supt. Wilfredo V. Dulay, Sr. previously announced that applicants in the last month's recruitment, who were not included but passed the panel interview, will automatically be included in the expected 275 quota for the region. Provided, however, that "they don't have any impediment as to their age (must not be above 30 years old), not pregnant in case of married female applicants, have not committed any crime, among others," the PRO 6 top brass said.
Dulay added that the 275 quota is still waiting confirmation from the PNP National Headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City. Likewise, PRO 6 is also waiting for the approval of the National Police Commission as regards the proposed date of oath taking on December 1, 2007.
This year's recruitment is intended to fill up the vacancies in several police units due to attrition of personnel. Dulay also explained that almost a thousand of PNP personnel have retired this year or about to retire early next year, while others have voluntarily resigned or been dropped from rolls; hence, this calls for immediate replacement to avoid depletion of police stations and other units.
Meanwhile, applicants to police service must possess the minimum qualifications, namely: must be a graduate of any four year course, passed the Napolcom, CSC or PRC examinations, 5 feet 2 inches tall for female and 5 feet 4 inches tall for male, not below 21 years or above 30 years old, among others.
The interested persons must also submit three folders (yellow, blue and white) with the following requirements: Civil Service Form 212 (Revised 2005) Personal History Statement; Birth Certificate (authenticated by NSO); Medical Certificate issued by the Local Health Office; Eligibility (authenticated by Napolcom, PRC, CSC); 2 pieces passport size picture with white background; 1 piece bust picture; 1 piece whole body picture; College Diploma/Transcript of Scholastic Records (Duly authenticated by the school registrar); Clearances from barangay, local police station, RTC/MTC and NBI; Finger print and hand writing specimen from Napolcom; Neuro-Psychiatric Examination Result; and, Physical Agility Test Result.
The deadline of submission of application is September 21, 2007. Applicants must wear white t-shirt and maong pants and identification card while transacting business at Camp Delgado.
