Capiz town police station gets citizen-friendly award
Roxas City -- The police station in Ivisan, Capiz has been awarded by the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) – Regional Office 6 as among the most citizen-friendly station for the municipal category in the region.
P/Inspector Don V. Ante, Ivisan PNP Chief, received the award in Iloilo City early this month.
The regional search for the most citizen-friendly station will strengthen incoming PNP Director General Chief Supt. Avelino Razon's programs of bringing the police closer to the community.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo announced in Iligan City last September 24 the appointment of Razon as new PNP Chief to replace retiring Director General Oscar Calderon effective Oct. 1 this year.
Razon, a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 74, served as director of the former Western Police District Command (WPDC) now Manila Police District, Southern Police District Command, National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) and head of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) during the term of former President Fidel. V. Ramos.
Razon will take over the PNP Chief portfolio on the exact date Calderon goes on compulsory retirement.
He is currently the PNP Deputy Chief for administration. (PIA)
