Bacolod City wins 2nd place in POC national contest
Bacolod City -- City Mayor Evelio Leonardia turned over to City Treasurer's Office officer-in-charge Annabelle Badajos, the P75,000 check received by Bacolod as the 2nd Best City Peace and Order Council in the Philippines recently.
The check, together with a plaque, was presented by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to Mayor Leonardia during the awarding rites at the Malacañang Palace recently.
Leonardia, chairperson of the Bacolod Peace and Order Council, said the incentive will be used by the Council for the enhancement of the peace and order operations of Bacolod.
He added that the award has brought prestige to the city and inspiration to the front liners in the upholding of its peace and order situation, referring to the members of the CPOC, from government agencies, non-government organizations, schools, religious, business and private sectors. (PIA/cad)
