Roxas City to award oldest senior citizen
Roxas City -- The city government here through the Federation of Senior Citizens Associations of the Philippines (FSCAP) – Roxas City Chapter will award its oldest and able senior citizen in line with the senior citizens week celebration from October 1 to 7 this year.
The award will be conferred to 90-year old Conrado B. Bermudez of Elieta Street here "in recognition of being the oldest member of the Chapter having been born on August 15, 1910 and for his invaluable service to the government up to October 16, 1972."
Various activities for the week-long celebration will include motorcade caravan, mass, senior citizens program, health fair and legal consultation, and visitation to the Home for the Aged at Barangay Banica here, among others.
"The senior citizens are happy with the support of the city government to the upcoming senior citizens week," said Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) Head Romeo A. Arceño.
The theme of this year's celebration is "Ang Nakakatanda Tanglaw ng Kabataan at Lipunan." (PIA)
