Healthy eating at Bigby's
We shared everything we ordered. We all had a great smile on our face, evidently satisfied and dignified. It turned out to be a feast, not the usual boring healthy food indeed
Diet! Diet! Diet! That's all girls think about nowadays! But it's hard to be on a diet when you're eating out. But not anymore, I recently found out that eating healthy and going out can go together.
It's a common misconception that eating healthy equates to tasteless and boring food selection. I myself would agree on this argument not until I tried the healthy menu items of BIGBY's Cafe and Restaurant.
One evening, after a long busy day I had in the office, I planned to relax and have a relaxing evening with my friends. So, we came across this cozy restaurant named BIGBY's Cafe and Restaurant. It was attractive and inviting so we went inside without hesitation. Upon browsing the menu, one of my friends was thinking that we might lose control by ordering a lot so we agreed on eating light and healthy, that's why we checked out their salad and fish selection first.
We started with an appetizer. The Asparagus and Pesto Quesadillas was divine. It's flour tortilla (very similar to pita bread used for shawarma) stuffed with a delicate flavor of asparagus and Italian pesto alongside a refreshing salsa. It really gave new meaning to the word appetizers.
For the main course, I indulged myself with an ordered of Chicken Samurai. It was a healthy portion of grilled chicken breast with a delectable teriyaki sauce. The chicken was tender, flavorful and juicy. The teriyaki sauce was a big plus; it boasts the right blend of sweetness. Then, I added the Warm Shroomy Salad, comprised of sautéed shitake mushrooms, corn kernels, lettuce, cherry tomatoes tossed with a tangy vinaigrette dressing and topped with a succulent fish patty. This sure beats the tasteless food I've been eating on a diet.
For most of my friends, they ordered fish. One of them had the Pescado Al Fresco, pan-seared cream dory fillet with a pesto spread and topped with shoestring potatoes. The fish fillet melts in your mouth yet leaving a flavorful twang in your taste buds. While the other one had the Riverside Thrill which was a succulent piece of milkfish belly, oven baked to tenderness, served with mango salsa… Just the natural flavor of the milkfish belly drizzled with soy and garlic, was a perfect treat for the Filipino palate.
We shared everything we ordered. We all had a great smile on our face, evidently satisfied and dignified. It turned out to be a feast, not the usual boring healthy food indeed. BIGBY's Cafe and Restaurant really delivered the essence of eating healthy yet satisfying your cravings.
