Are there still honest men and women in gov't?
People in coffee shops, barber shops, parlors, restaurants and other assemblies are surprised why every now and then, corruption, bribery, stealing of public funds and other anomalies are bannered in daily newspapers and over the airwaves. Are there no honest men and women left in our government service today particularly in Malacañang and the House of Representatives? Are our government officials and employees principally in the higher echelon true Christians or pseudo-Christians? Many go to church every Sunday and even weekdays and take daily communion and confess their sins. But how come when they are out of the church, they don on their worldly clothes and do the Satanic life! "Now I pray to God that you do no evil, not that we should appear approved, but that you should do what is honorable, though we may seem disqualified," II Corinthians 13:7.
What's wrong with elected officials entrusted by the people to work for the welfare of the masses and serve them with utmost honesty, integrity and justice? Is money only the last value these corrupt and dishonest public officials cherish? Do they still have an iota of decency left in their earthly bodies? Are they not afraid of God or do they believe that God still exists? Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things."
If our government officials are children of God, why do they lie? Although Gov. Ed Panlilio of Pampanga and Gov. Jun-Jun Mendoza admitted they received P500,000 from Malacañang morning of October 11, 2007 and are poised to return the money since they do not know the purpose of money, other governors and congressmen who were recipient of the P500,000 and P200,000 vehemently denied and denied. It would seem now that lying is a matter of standard operating procedure (SOP) for dishonest government men. As the famous adage of the famous American President Abraham Lincoln, "You can fool some of the people some of the time, some of the people most of the time, but not all people all the time." Anyway, nobody will stay on this earth forever. God holds our life here on earth here on earth and when He says, it's time to go, the dishonest politicians can't say, "Lord, wait for a while, I will return all the people's money I have stolen and give me a chance to become honest." It's too late, your time on earth is up. As to where the corrupt government men and women will go, heaven or hell, the Lord knows.
