TNT's Iloilo Yearbook is 2007 Best Travel Publication

The Iloilo Yearbook published by The News Today was awarded as this year's Best Travel Publication in the ongoing Western Visayas Tourism Assembly (WVTA) hosted by the province of Negros Occidental.
Iloilo Yearbook 2007
Launched in 2006, Iloilo Yearbook is part coffee-table book, part magazine and part almanac printed in full color on quality coated paper. It comprises current and authoritative information on the province and city; document major social, cultural and political events; record economic and recreational trends; showcase tourist destinations, festivals, and local products; as well as present pertinent and useful statistical and historical information.
Iloilo Yearbook has already come out with two editions—the first featured the historic Molo Church in its cover while the second featured the old Calle Real in the cover.
TNT's Marketing Director Marichel Magalona recieve the award
TNT Marketing Director Marichel Teves-Magalona, project director of Iloilo Yearbook, received the award which was given at the Nature's Village Resort in Talisay City, Negros Occidental last November 14, 2007.
The other awardees from Iloilo are: Sarabia Manor Hotel and Convention Center as the Best Hotel in the first class category; The Grand Dame Hotel in the standard category and The Harbor Town Hotel in the economy category.
The Grand Dame Hotel also garnered the Best Hotel Frontliner Award.
Other than the hotel awards, Iloilo City also got the award for the best restaurant and best tour guide. The Best Restaurant award went to Breakthrough Restaurant in Arevalo and Best Tour Guide to Yehlen Camarista, daughter of Department of Tourism (DoT) assistant regional director Atty. Helen Camarista.
City Mayor Jerry Treñas congratulated all the awardees saying the city is proud of them.
The WVTA is a week-long meet that promotes and showcases the diverse tourism attractions and facilities Western Visayas has to offer. It aims to present a colorful display of arts, crafts, cultural events and investment opportunities.
In the cultural events, Iloilo's Dinagyang and Paraw Regatta will also join in the Parade of Festivals to be held in the streets of Bacolod City this afternoon. Miss Dinagyang Cara Jean Sullano also represented the city in the Search for Miss Western Visayas Tourism.
