Disaster councils in Western Visayas on alert over possible re-entry of 'Lando'
The Regional Disaster and Coordinating Council (RDCC) here, down to the municipal level, have been alerted on the possible re-entry of tropical depression 'Lando' to the Philippine area of responsibility.
This is in response to the memorandum from the National Disaster and Coordinating Council(NDCC) headed by Defense Secretary Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr to "exhaust all available resources to implement zero casualty."
Preparations and constant monitoring are now being undertaken in low-lying areas, river banks and landslide prone areas throughout the region.
Tropical depression 'Lando', according to the NDCC report, is expected to re-enter the Philippine area of responsibility on Monday, possibly affecting Palawan, Visayas regions, and sections of Southern Luzon. (PNA)
