Ordinance up on training of studes in gov't hospitals
Students up for training in government hospitals throughout Iloilo will soon be guided and regulated alongside the stipulation for a fixed training cum hospital user's fee.
This, after a draft Ordinance was drawn and pushed for approval before the Iloilo Sanggunian Panlalawigan (SP).
Sponsored by First District Board Member Mac Napulan, chair of the Committee on Health, rationale of the draft Ordinance was established as necessary "for the promotion, maintenance and delivery of health services."
For years now, the province has made its provincial and eleven district hospitals as venue for the learning and training of students from various schools, universities and colleges. These institutions similarly have accredited health and allied health courses and programs.
The Provincial Health Office (PHO) in heeding a Department of Health (DOH) Administrative Order helped draft the Ordinance as clearer stipulations were identified on the charging of hospital user's fee.
As such, rates for institution fees were established in the proposed Ordinance on the following discipline – Dentistry, Hospital Dietetics, Public Health Nutrition, Medical Technology, Social Worker, Nursing, Occupational/ Physical Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy and Pscyhology.
Other health-related short-term courses are also covered such as Midwifery, Health Aide, Nurse Aide and Caregivers.
