Capiz coop focuses on 'powering' of sitios
Roxas City -- The Capiz Electric Cooperative (CAPELCO) has focused its electrification efforts on the various sitios provincewide following the complete barangay energization in the province last March 2005.
Sitio is a small community that composes some barangays particularly in the rural areas.
CAPELCO has energized 56 sitios provincewide in 2006 based in an annual report published in a souvenir program for the cooperative's annual general membership assembly last month.
The assembly with the theme "Powering Countryside Development and Industrialization through Rural Electrification Program" was graced by Capiz first district Cong. Antonio Del Rosario.
It was also an occasion to update the member-consumers of the cooperative's progress and plans for development as well as venue for discussion of CAPELCO problems and concerns for appropriate solutions.
The various outstanding Barangay Power Associations (BAPAs) in 2006 were also awarded during the gathering.
"The coop management will continue to strive to improve customer service," said CAPELCO General Manager Engineer Edgar Diaz, stressing the cooperative's 2006 significant accomplishments in his report. (PIA)
