No security threats in WV ports this holiday season, says PPA
The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) here announced that all ports and terminals in Western Visayas are safe from any threats this holiday season.
Major Renato Gamis, chief of the PPA port police, said the only problem that they are anticipating is the surge in the number of passengers, who will rush to go home to spend the holiday with their families.
"December is a passenger season but usually Iloilo is very safe and peaceful compared with other ports in the country," Gamis said. "Ports in Western Visayas are in normal condition, we are still at security level one."
He said all their personnel are in their respective posts.
The security level will only be raised to the next degree if they receive information on possible security threats, Gamis noted. (PNA)
