'Blame me not'
The year 2007 is about to end, and yes a lot of things had happened. November was the typhoon month as three typhoons hit the area of responsibility of the Philippines particularly in the Luzon and Visayas areas. Flashfloods and deadly landslides took lives and destroyed properties.
The grief of thousands of Filipinos who are starving and sick has doubled. Street children are not only found in the cities but they are starting to scatter in rural places, too. Just like the price of petroleum products, the crime rate of our country is increasing.
Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, former Army Scout Rangers Chief Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim and former Vice President Teofisto Guingona led a "defiant act" which highlighted the political scene of the country since the time of ex-presidents Marcos and Aquino. The PNP filed rebellion and inciting-to-rebellion cases against them including the 48 others involved in the short-lived takeover of the Peninsula Manila last November 30. Is there a ground for such a "defiant act?" Let's do some counter-checking to our political scenario these days to answer that hanging question.
There is no stability in the Philippines as of this time. It may be in politics, economy and social condition. Nothing is stable these days but only the minimum wage of a regular Juan dela Cruz. The cry of Filipino workers for the PhP300 across the board increase seems floating in the air.
What a gloomy picture. To think Christmas is just around the corner.
But the question is how are we going to celebrate such if we are bombarded with a life full of darkness and miseries?
What is happening to us now is not a matter of chance but a matter of choice. It is our choice to experience such a gloomy life. That in whatever action we do, we should always remember that it has a corresponding responsibility. As they say, "let's be more accountable of our actions."
If we keep on degrading our Mother Earth, time can tell when the right payback time is. If we hold on to our lazy attitude, growth and development of this nation will never be attained. If we keep on blaming the government for what we are into right now, nothing will surely happen to our lives. If we keep on blaming other persons for the life we have now, we seem to be stupid enough to let other people control us. You have the last word in any decision making that you are going to have in your life. It is a matter of choice and the right choice lies in your two hands.
If there's no stability in this land, let us be united for a cause. And that is to build a stable foundation of "strong will" to overcome our negative vibes. We should live positively with a maximum trust to our selves that we can have a better life without abusing our rights as a person and avoiding mischievous acts to our Mother Nature and to our fellow men. Blaming our government for the life we have now create a more chaotic life. Try to examine yourself in the mirror once and for all.
Whatever you have right now, account it to yourself. It's your own choice why you have such a life and don't blame anyone, after all it's your choice.
