Christmas and Christians
To many Christians the Yuletide season is characterized by eating, partying, drinking wine, and all sorts of Sodom and Gomorrah. While, other devote Christians spend their Christmas in going to churches of their own choices. Others who are bedridden, crippled and sick spend Christmas in homes and hospitals and meditate on the birth of Christ solemnly and divinely.
True disciples of the Lord celebrate the birthday of Jesus Christ without pomp and fanfare. Like what happened in the Biblical times, they kneel on their feet, cross their hands and lay frustrate on the floor praying several hours and singing Angelic songs.
Spending lavishly on food, womanizing and deadly drinks may not be a fitting way to remember Christ's birth. For true disciples of God reminisce Jesus Christ's birth in Bethlehem soundly asleep in a manger with only Joseph, Mary and lowly shepherds and sheeps mowing on green grasses. Yes, there was no noisy merrymaking and lavish partying but only the Angelic songs coming from heaven highlighted by the bright star that served as the guide of the three Wise Men.
Who are the true disciples of God? John 9:31, "Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if any one is a worshiper of God and does His will He hears him." John 4:23, "But the hour is coming and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship."
Ardent worshipers and believers are those who celebrate Christmas as divinely and spiritually as God inhabits the praise of His people. If we want to be true disciples of Jesus Christ, observe Christmas in the beauty of holiness. Satan appreciates the way many people celebrate Christmas as they unconsciously fall into the trap of Satan by over-enjoying the true birth of Jesus.
Let's make Christmas merry and happy the way early Christians in Biblical time did celebrate. Remember, it's Jesus Christ the world over is commemorating and not Satan's worldly gimmick on merrymaking.
