City Hall reporters distribute gifts to City Jail inmates
Fifty-seven inmates of the City District Jail received Christmas presents from the members of the Iloilo City Hall Press Corps (ICHPC) yesterday.
The gift-giving activity, which is already on its seventh year, was conducted by media practitioners from various outlets covering the City Hall beat.
Aside from the distribution of giftpacks the inmates were also treated with snacks. In return, the inmates rendered dance and song numbers.
City District Jail houses mostly women and minors who have committed petty crimes.
ICHPC's yearly gift-giving activity was supported by SM Foundation, Korean Youth Association and Vice Mayor Jed Mabilog.
ICHPC officers and members vowed to continue the activity every year to let the inmates feel the spirit of Christmas though they are in jail.
The jail's management is also looking forward for the continuance of the project since it gives delight and happiness to the inmates of the City District Jail.
