P3M subsidy released to 15 Dinagyang tribes
The Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation Inc. (IDFI) yesterday released the remaining P810,000 subsidy to 15 participating tribes in this year's Dinagyang celebration. The recently released fund is part of the P3,025,000 allocated for the subsidy of tribes.
The fund was taken from the P3 million financial assistance coming from the city government. As of yesterday, the city government already released P2 million out of the P3 million financial assistance for the festival.
The foundation subsidized the 15 competing tribes that made a commendable performance in the last three years. The first ten of the 15 tribes received P220,000 each while the five remaining tribes received P165,000 subsidy. The first trance of financial assistance was released last year.
The tribes that received financial cash assistance were Tribu Ilonganon, Tribu Silak, Tribu Paghidaet, Ang Taga Jaro, Tribu Atub-Atub, Tribu San Pedro, Tribu Baryohanon, Tribu Molave, Tribu Aninipay and Tribu Kalubihan, Tribu Pag-asa, Tribu Panaad, Tribu Dagyaw Ta / Binhi, Tribu Familia Sagrada and Tribu Parianon.
The financial assistance to the participating tribes was placed in the priority list of the foundation in order toensure the quality of their performances as well as their costumes.
The Tribu Hamili, Tribu Angola, Tribu Bantu, Tribu Himala and Tribu Ivatan did not receive any financial assistance. The Tribu Ivatan, which is from Batanes will join as competing tribe and not as a guest performer.
Apart from the financial subsidy to the 20 ati competing tribes, the foundation will also give financial assistance to eight competing groups in the Kasadyahan contest. Each group will receive P100,000 financial assistance.
