P14.8M computerization program to start this month
Services in money and revenue making offices of the city government will be computerized starting this year courtesy of the World Bank.
City Mayor Jerry Treñas, in an interview with the Iloilo City Hall Press Corps yesterday, said the computerization project is worth P14.8 million.
Treñas said a contractor already won the bidding for the project. The winning bidder which the mayor failed to identify posted a bidding price of P10.63 million for both the softwares and hardwares of the project.
The contractor's bid is lower compared with the price set by the Bids and Awards Committee that is P12.9 million.
Treñas said the computerization program includes the acquisition of computer tables and salaries of encoders.
The offices to be fully computerized this month are the city treasurer, assessor, budget and accounting as the services are important in revenue collection and services, said Treñas.
The chief executive has envisioned the computerization program since last year. The program will improve the services offered by the city government in the different offices deemed as important in tax and revenue collection, he said.
