Army reports: Reds 'infiltrate' Catholic schools
Propaganda against coal-fired power plants has now reached the halls of elite private schools and the most exclusive of Catholic colleges and universities in Iloilo City.
And as supposedly designed, the main mission is to infiltrate the religious community with main targets no less than priests, nuns and Catholic students as unsuspecting audience.
The movers, The News Today (TNT) was told, are legal front organizations of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP). The implementors, sources added, are leaders of these groups.
As such, a warning has now been issued by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) here alongside the appeal for support on what it termed "government pro-poor project such as the coal-fired power plant."
The stage has also allegedly been set to highlight the widening propaganda, TNT further gathered, with CPP-backed protest rallies on the "Love Day," Thursday.
"The terrorist CPP/NPA/NDF legal front organizations are planning to conduct rallies and demonstrations on February 14 to 15 against the government pro-poor project such as the coal-fired power plant that generates more power for the economic progress of the Ilonggo people," the AFP in a news statement sent to TNT said. "Information were revealed by concerned masses and insiders at these legal front organizations on the plan to penetrate and use religious schools. One of their priority is to convince the students to join the rallies for the benefit of the communist's plan of chaos, economic sabotage and anti-development."
"These communist terrorists are out to use innocent religious personalities in their Art of Deception," Captain Lowen Gil Marquez, commanding officer of the AFP's 3rdCivil Relations Unit said. "Once again, they use "hallucinating issues" based on hearsay propaganda to convince their targeted victim-audience."
The AFP in backing the coal-fired power plant further called for public support saying "this project will give job opportunities in Panay Island which we need to free us from the bondage of poverty created and perpetrated by the economic saboteurs."
And stay away from these people, Captain Marquez appealed stressing that chaos and poverty are what the communist legal front groups adhere.
"It favors their breeding grounds in raising issues of poverty and jobless society which in reality is part of their recruitment procedure and to implant communist thoughts on probable victims," Captain Marquez ended.
