Philippines needs God-anointed leaders
Filipino top government officials including some corrupt private executives need God's cleansing power and the guidance from the Holy Spirit. Why do top government officials with the connivance of dishonest private businessmen continue to stash government finances not only in thousands but in millions of dollars? Are they aware that God looks down from heaven and watch them how they live on earth as Christians? There is a Book of Life and if your name is written on this sacred book, you are destined to go to heaven. But if one lives in a very filthy life on earth, will his name be found in the Book of Life or in a hot oven? Many government officials and employees act like fools. In Psalms 14:1-2, the fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they have done abomination works, and so on. The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God.
Government leaders are supposed to set an example to their constituents by living a godly life. They should act like Jesus Christ who is sinless and their morality is beyond reproach. When these government officials and corrupt private executives live a life of indecency and immorality, they are setting a bad example to our young people and the future generation.
Gone are the days when Filipino leaders like Sergio Osmeña Sr., Manuel A. Roxas and Ramon Magsaysay governed the country without an iota of dishonesty and full of transparency. Their legacy is an epitome of exemplary leadership and honesty. Their names were cleaned and had never been linked to graft and corruption. So they set a very good example to our future young leaders to emulate.
Many of our present leaders are Christians. They take communion everyday which is a symbol of remembering Jesus Christ who shed His blood in the cross of calvary for the remission of our sins. But the opposite is being done by those who professed to be Christians and yet their action resembles that of Judas Escariot who took the thirty pieces of silver and betrayed Jesus Christ to the Roman soldiers.
Rodolfo "Jun" Lozada's testimony to the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Friday afternoon, February 8, about fresh revelation not only on the scandalous ZTE broadband deal and other government projects which saw many dirty government hands dipped into government contracts and projects just to get allegedly more than 20 percent kickback or commission in millions of dollars only reveal that the values of these government officials and private individuals are distorted. On February 25, people will commemorate the 22nd EDSA revolution that toppled a former President from power. The people are silent now about the expose of Jun Lozada in the Senate. Silent water runs deep. God only knows what will happen tomorrow, the next day and following. Let's crossed our fingers and pray to God that nothing catastrophic will beset our country on this memorable celebration.
