Here we come, Iloilo Paraw Regatta 2008
The candidates in Pale Bleue.
The much awaited Iloilo Paraw Regatta had a kick-off celebration at SM City Iloilo last Feb. 11, 2008. The highlight of the opening was the presentation of 12 lovely ladies vying for the Miss Paraw Regatta crown. After that, the photo exhibit featuring beautiful shots of sailboats and the festival itself, was opened.
This is the 36th Iloilo Paraw Regatta Festival. Apart from the main sail on Sunday, one event that we can also look forward to is the Samba de Regatta, a music and mardi gras competition, already on its third year. The Department of Tourism hopes that this competition can be developed into another spectacle, which takes place before the sailboats leave. Samba on the beach ... something different ... something exciting.

Jimena and the candidates
Already my friends and I are planning to play tourists during the festival. Included in our itinerary (make them part of yours, too) are the rowing and paddling competition, Pinta da Layag competition, Pinta Tawo competition, all at the beach on February 17, and Miss Iloilo Paraw Regatta 2008 grand finals at the Freedom Grandstand on February 15. And oh, let's not forget the yummy seafood and lechon that restaurants along Villa beach, can offer.
