NFA maintains gov't rice at P18.50/kg
Roxas City -- There was a P65.00 price hike on the price of flour (Dakota) in February compared to its price in the preceding month.
Based on the monitoring report of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) last month, there was an 8.15 percent increase or P65.00 per 25-kilogram per bag of flour.
The prevailing price of hard flour last month was posted at P862.00 per bag compared to January's P797.00 price per bag, the report noted, adding that soft flour remains at P777.00 per bag.
There was also a P3.00 price increase per bag of cement in February that made its price to P183.00 per bag compared to the preceding month's price of P180.00 per bag, the report said.
Price hikes were also noted on tire wire, common wire nails, beef loaf and corned beef.
On the other hand, the prevailing price of cooking oil was posted at P26.00 to P28.00 per bottle with a notable P4.00 price increase per bottle.
Meanwhile, the National Food Authority disclosed that the prevailing price of commercial rice ranges from P23.00 to P26.00 per kilogram, however the government maintains to sell NFA rice at P18.50 per kilogram at all Bigasan ng Bayan and Tindahan Natin outlets, Information Officer Edna Artates said.
