Ugsad leads Women's Month celebration
The UGSAD Regional Resource Center based in U.P. in the Visayas-Iloilo campus will kick off the Women's Month Celebration here with a program and a "Tyangge" showcasing products of women engaged in Micro-enterprise development, March 7, 2008.
UGSAD Coordinator Rosario Asong said the activities they have planned out for the celebration are in support of this year's International theme: "Financing for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women."
Asong said the celebration will also be given more meaning with the inauguration of the Gender and Development Program Building, which will house the various gender-related programs of UP, where the UGSAD office will also be located.
She said the activities will further highlight women's contribution to the economy, following the national theme "CEDAW ng Bayan:Kabuhayan Para sa Kababaihan."
A Lecture-Forum on Femininist Counselling dubbed "Pasanag Kay Eba" with Sylvia Estrada-Claudio will be held for UGSAD members at the UPV Graduate and Continuing Education Building Training Room at 1:30 p.m. on March 7. (PIA 6/ESS)
