SP reconsiders deleted budget for top Capitol chief
Unintentionally deleted. As such, corresponding restoration is needed.
This was the contention of the Committee on Appropriations of the 9th Iloilo Sanggunian Panlalawigan (SP) faced with the issue of P115,200,00 gone missing on the controversial amended Capitol Executive Budget.
With the deliberation over, the committee in Committee Report No. 152 made the necessary change with the entire amount all set to be given to its rightful owner.
P115,200 richer then would be Provincial Assessor Francisco Habana with the SP body stating how the amount was "unintentionally deleted as payment for the Representation And Transportation Allowance (RATA)."
"The Sanggunian Panlalawigan thru Appropriation Ordinance No. 2008-01-a enacted the Annual Budget for Calendar Year 2008 in the total amount of Eight Hundred Sixty Two Million Five Hundred Eight Thousand Eight Hundred Ninety-Nine Pesos and 14/100 (P862,508,899.14)," excerpts of the committee report went. "In the enactment of the said Appropriation Ordinance, the SP has the guiding principle of efficiency and economy in its promotion of the general welfare. Among the significant features of the said ordinance is the deletion of the appropriations for unfilled positions in the different offices. In the process, the appropriation for Representation and Transportation Allowance (RATA) in the amount of One Hundred Fifteen Thousand Two Hundred Pesos (P115,200.00) under Ordinance Item No. 1 – Provincial Government Department Head, Personal Services, Office of the Provincial Assessor was unintentionally deleted."
Meantime, budget review of the said Appropriation Ordinance hangs at the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
