15-year old student missing
A 15-year old student of a Catholic educational institution in Iloilo City has been reported missing since Saturday. She is believed to be in the custody of a group tagged as Black Rose.
City Councilor Armand Parcon said the girl identified only as Rachel Anne was last seen Saturday. Since then, she failed to return home. She also failed to attend her classes since Monday.
Parcon said the matter has already been reported to the police and the school authorities. Announcements on radios were also made to send notice to Rachel Anne and her custodians.
Parcon said the girl's mother asked for his help after they failed to locate her. The absence of the student prompted her parents to open her Friendster account in the internet. Friendster is a socializing site on the web. The girl's Friendster gave indications that she is a member of a group named Black Rose.
No other details about the Black Rose is made available. It could not yet be ascertained whether it is a sorority or a cult preying on teenagers. Senior Inspector Conrado Carganillo, chief of City Proper Police Station, was not available when reached for comment.
Parcon appealed to the custodians of Rachel Anne to allow the latter to go home before her mother decides to file cases of kidnapping against them. She is a minor and her custodians are liable for violation of certain laws, Parcon said.
The councilor said the girl's mother is already worried about what happened to her. Rachel Anne is the youngest child among the four siblings. Until Wednesday afternoon, no word was heard from Rachel Anne or her captors. This caused much anxiety and stress to Rachel's mother.
Prior to the Rachel's disappearance, Parcon was told that she disassociates herself from her best friend and her cousins. She refused to go with them in going home after school. Her friends were also not familiar with the friends she has included in her Friendster.
