Missing teener found; Family search for clues reached teener's 'Friendster'
The 15 year-old teener who has been missing for 5 days was found unharmed yesterday by family members tipped off with the late afternoon sighting.
Roda Espiritu, mother of the victim confirmed the news to The News Today (TNT).
"Ari na si Rachel Anne. Okay na siya. Pero indi pa siya maistorya, (We got Rachel Anne. She is okay. But she still would not say anything)," Roda told TNT.
The teener was found in the Times Square building along General Luna Street after concerned friends of Rachel Anne alerted her mother.
No other further details were readily available yet Roda repeatedly said, "okay na siya. Ari na gid siya (She is okay. She is really back)."
The development came after family members followed up clues that surfaced yesterday.
With an account found on "Friendster," Roda sought help on the validation of backgrounds of her daughter's supposed friends gathered online.
One particular male "friend" in his 30s caught the attention of Roda after further check showed young girls in his own list of friends, one reportedly half-naked.
Roda told TNT that several sightings have been reported over the week yet yielded no results. Until yesterday afternoon that Roda and the family again got a call that placed Rachel Anne in the Times Square building. It was not immediately clear who was keeping Rachel Anne company at the time she was recovered.
Last time that Rachel Anne contacted her mother was through a text-message about 10:30 pm Saturday. She was supposed to be in a birthday party yet when verified, Rachel Anne never showed up for that.
School authorities have been alerted as well with a meeting held between top school officials and Roda.
Rachel Anne is a high school student of the Colegio De San Jose in Jaro District.
Roda told TNT that she feared for her daughter's safety especially after being told of a "Black Wall Señoritas" gang that may have recruited her.
Two other students of Colegio De San Jose are reportedly fellow "señoritas" as well as students coming from two top universities of the city.
Roda first sought the help of City Councilor Armand Parcon. Parcon has since issued an appeal for community support in finding Rachel Anne. Such as Parcon stressed that foremost to be considered is Rachel Anne's safety.
