BIR Bacolod launches 2008 tax campaign
Bacolod City -- The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Revenue Region 12, Bacolod City will launch its 2008 Tax Campaign on March 12, 2008, with activities geared to create tax awareness among the public regarding the bureau's major program and projects.
This year's tax campaign theme "Itaguyod ang Bayan, Tamang Buwis Bayaran" will kick off with a motorcade around Bacolod City, to be participated by the national government agencies, civic and professional organizations, other sectoral groups, and BIR personnel from the Regional Office and Revenue District Offices in Victorias, Bacolod, Binalbagan and as far as Dumaguete City.
During the launching, top BIR supporters' awards will be given to individuals, public officials, corporations, government entities, civic organizations, business and professional sectoral groups who have actively supported the tax campaign, programs/activities for taxable year 2007, in recognition of their strong partnership with BIR in improving the overall tax collection.
The BIR is now stepping up its tax campaign efforts to reach its collection goal for 2008.
Rodita B. Galanto, Regional Director, Revenue Region 12, Bacolod City said that the tax campaign is to give signal to our taxpayers that we are now ready to accept filing of their 2007 Income Tax Return, to remind our taxpayers about the April 15 ITR filing deadline, and to campaign for the cooperation of the taxpayers which is important for the BIR to reach its big collection goal.
