Erna Foerster's Diversion
Blade
Photos by Jun Rojas
Erna Foerster of the Iloilo City Police Office's Women's and Children's Desk is holding a photographic exhibit entitled "Diversion" at Museo Iloilo.
Presented before the public are many pieces of rare and fabulous photographs that reflect Foerster's love for art.
Her life as a policewoman is filled with challenges. Most often, she encounters bad experiences that bring her to the point where she would like to scream "enough!" But this artistic and very practical woman used her hobby in photography as a diversion. "I turned something bad and ugly into one that's worthwhile and beautiful," she said.
Just like Blade, which I loved the first time I saw it. I spent such a long time looking at it and marveling at its beauty.
Briefly Ugly
Foerster said that this beautiful mushroom is of the poisonous variety. "It's very uncommon and knowing that I may not be able to go back, I took a photo of it. It was taken at Ambakan Waterfalls in Jordan, Guimaras," she said.
Foerster said that her subjects always have a way of presenting themselves to her during her work-related trips. She gives importance to things that otherwise other people would not notice.
She's the President of the Photo Artists League of Iloilo (PALI).
A lot of her friends, PALI members, relatives, WVSU photo students, PSI members were there to join in the celebration. (With reports from Jun Rojas)
