City has new boarding house czar
City Mayor Jerry Treñas has appointed businessman Edward Yee as the new chair of the Boarding House Commission (BHC) replacing its former head Mayet Geremias.
Yee's appointment surprised the staff of BHC as they earlier asked Mayor Treñas to retain Geremias as BHC head though she already resigned as head of the Task Force Adams Apple.
Geremias then headed both the BHC and TF Adams Apple at the same time.
Geremias resigned as head of the Task Force Adams Apple after she and Councilor Ely Estante, who is her co-chair at the task force, had misunderstandings over certain policies in the conduct of operations in the city's different night clubs.
Having stripped of her former positions at BHC and TF Adams Apple, Geremias will be returning to her mother unit which is the City Health Office (CHO).
Yee ran for City Councilor under Mayor Treñas in last year's elections.
Yee assured that he will try to match the people's expectations in the performance of his new job as boarding house czar.
He assured that under his helm he will make sure all the boarding houses operating in the city are safe and conducive for living.
