110 grantees sign MOA on Negros Occidental scholarship program
Vice Governor Emilio Yulo, III together with members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) together with the 109 grantees of the Negros Occidental Scholarship Program (NOSP) for school year 2008-2009.
The grantees were divided among the seven scholarship programs offered by the Provincial Government.
Of the 110 scholars, 42 are included in the District Educational Scholarship (DES); 21 are the Negros Occidental Provincial Medical and Nursing Scholars (NOPMaNS)- Nursing category; two (2) are NOPMaNS-Medicine category; 10 are Provincial Educational Assistance for Capitol Employees (PEACE) scholars.
14 are Master's Degree Scholarship grants for Capitol employees occupying first or second level supervisory or non-supervisory position; 20 are Pagkaon Scholars who will go into agriculture, forestry, fishery and other related courses and 11 are Provincial Vocational/Technical Scholarship grantees of whom three are Indigenous Peoples, one an Ati from Sitio Marikudo, Brgy. Camang-Camang, Isabela and two Bukidnon-Karulano are from Brgy. Carol-an in Kabankalan City.
Scholars who graduated with honors during school year 2007-2008 were also recognized and given medals and cash incentives during the activity. (Capitol News/PIA/EAD)
