DFA to conduct mobile passport service in Negros
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will be conducting a mobile passport service in Negros Occidental on April 25-27 upon the request of the local government unit.
DFA Regional Director Victor Española said that this was eighth time the office have conducted mobile passport service this year. The first was held in Pandan, Antique last Jan. 25 to 26.
As part of the activities of the Manggahan Festival of Guimaras, the DFA also conducted a mobile passport service last Friday and Saturday where they had 31 applicants.
Española said that this mobile passport service has been of great help to those who are applying for passports such as the overseas Filipino workers, seamen and tourists because they don't have to go to the Consular Office in Iloilo City. They can apply for passports right in their municipalities during the specified dates.
The DFA director said that they are expecting a big number of Negrenses to avail of their service during the three-day mobile passporting. She noted that half of those who applied for passports daily at the consular office are from Negros Occidental. (PNA)
