PopCom promotes scientific natural family planning method use in WV
KALIBO, Aklan -- The Population Commission (POPCOM) has recently embarked on a comprehensive campaign on the proper use of the Scientific Natural Family Planning Method in Western Visayas.
POPCOM regional director Vicente Molejona said Malacañang recently released funds to ensure that population management in the country will be addressed.
"I hope the Catholic Church will support us in this endeavor because they have been campaigning among couples to only use natural family planning method as the couple's contribution to our population management program," Molejona said.
Among the methods that are available are lactational amenorrhea method (LAM), cervical mucus (billings ovulation, ovulation method), two-day method, basal body temperature (BBT), sympto-thermal method (STM) and the standard days method (SDM).
The POPCOM director said that the NFP is highly effective, natural, simple to learn, inexpensive, reversible, life-long use, empowerment and builds relationship. (PNA)
