'5-15-25' rakes P3M in STL winnings
Iloilo Small Town Lottery Gaming Corp. (ISTLGC) reportedly paid more or less P3 million to winning bettors in its lone draw last Sunday, May 4. The winning number combination was 5-15-25.
ISTLGC officials said, for the "pick three" winners alone they paid a total of P1,777,500. There were also an undetermined number of "pick two" bettors who won.
A breakdown released by ISTLGC for "pick three" winners showed that 48 bettors won in the target set, 22 in rumble 3 and 20 in rumble 6.
A target means that the bettor's number combination is in order similar to the result, while rumble means that the bettor picked the winning number combination in any order.
A 1-peso bet for target wins P20,000. The prize increases as the bet becomes higher.
One bettor from Brgy. Desamparados, Jaro reportedly won P200,000 in the draw.
Last Sunday's big win created a stir after some bet collectors (koredor) reportedly told their winning bettors that the STL management declared a "dividendo" meaning the bettor's winning prize would be deducted or would be paid in installment.
The situation prompted ISTLGC management yesterday to make a declaration denying that they declared a "dividendo" on all the winners.
The management then called on all the winners to directly claim their prizes at the STL office in Arroyo Street as they would no longer turn it over to "koredors" to avoid confusion.
A source said some "koredors" could have taken advantage of the situation, intentionally deducting the winnings of their bettors for their own benefit.
The News Today learned that Sunday's total winnings of P3 million is the biggest so far incurred by ISTLGC since the STL started operating in the city in September 2006.
The two other instances where ISTLGC paid millions to winning bettors was during the Jaro fiesta in February this year in which they paid a total of P1.8 million and in the month of March in which they also paid more than P1 million.
