Roxas City BHWs receive cash gift
ROXAS CITY – The city's Barangay Health Workers (BHW) received a cash gift worth one thousand pesos (P1,000.00) from the city government last May 12 in time with the 57th Roxas cityhood celebration.
The cash gift was in appreciation and recognition to the BHWs dedication and commitment in the provision and delivery of health services to their respective communities.
"The city has appropriated P1,048,000.00 for the BHW's cash gift," said Roxas City Administrator Ronald Amigo.
PhilHealth cards were also distributed for indigent beneficiaries during the celebration as part of the city's commitment to the residents' well-being.
Other health-related activities for the 57th cityhood anniversary include free medical and dental mission, blood typing as well as voluntary blood letting, and circumcision.
For his part, Roxas City Mayor Vicente B. Bermejo said the commemoration activities focused on the city's development initiatives consistent with the "SULONG ROXAS" development framework.
"SULONG" is an acronym for Service Enhancement (S), Urban Management (U), Livelihood Generation (L), Organizational Development (O), and New Governance (NG). (PIA/A.Lumaque)
