GMA lauds Western Visayas tourism
BACOLOD CITY -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo lauded Thursday developments in Western Visayas' tourism industry, emphasizing another tourism destination in Region 6 particularly in the southern part of Negros Occidental.
During her speech at the Local Peace and Secuiry Assembly (LPSA) in Planta Centro Bacolod Hotel and Residences here yesterday, PGMA said the significant improvement in the peace and order situation has given way to the development of the region in terms of its economy and in tourism in particular.
PGMA said when he spent several hours in southern Negros Occidental's amazing mountain and beach resorts and diving spots Wednesday, she knew another major attraction in Region 6 has emerged.
GMA has urged Negrense leaders, particularly naming her Wednesday host Sipalay Mayor Soledad Montilla, to come up with a master plan for the tourism industry in southern Negros Occidental.
