The recruitment process for Police Officers One (POIs) at Police Regional Office 6, Camp Delgado, Iloilo City is nearing its end, as the remaining 354 applicants undergo the panel interview since Monday (May 19).
The Regional Personnel and Human Resource Development Division (RPHRDD) had started with the recruitment process last March 3, 2008.
There were 710 applicants, of whom 664 passed the Physical Agility Test. The agility test was composed of exercises such as push-up, sit-up, pull-up, 100-meter sprint and the 1-kilometer jog walk.
The Neuro-Psychiatric Examination qualified only 354 applicants, who eventually passed the drug test.
The Neuro-Psychiatric Examination was conducted by members of the Medical Service from Camp Crame, Quezon City while the drug test was conducted by the Regional Crime Laboratory Office 6.
The PRO 6 has 225 quota allocations in this recruitment. The distributions per province are: Aklan - 10, Antique - 15, Capiz - 15, Guimaras – 10, Iloilo – 85 and Negros Occidental – 90.
There is no quota allocation for Iloilo City and Bacolod City.
"This recruitment is intended to augment the depleted strength in our municipal stations due to the retirement and death of our PNP personnel," PRO 6 Director, Police Chief Superintendent Isagani R. Cuevas said adding that "I am hopeful that with the continuing recruitment we will be able to supply the needed personnel in the field in consonance with the police population ratio."
This batch of recruits is tentatively set to take their oath of office next month. (DM C Reyes)
