'Soft' shoes, multi-use t-shirt for cops
Law enforcers will now be more comfortable with their new patrol shoes which are made of softer materials than that of their regular uniform shoes. This, after the Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Police Director General Avelino I. Razon, Jr., ordered for the wearing of "patrol" shoes for PNP recruits and PNP uniformed personnel performing beat/foot patrol.
Also, other PNP uniformed personnel assigned in field duties such as checkpoints operations, field investigation, Civil Disturbance Management (CDM), Field Training Program (FTP), community services and other activities may use the said "soft" shoes instead of their black low cut dress shoes.
The black low cut dress shoes or the "wet look" will not be phased out, instead it will be used in special occasions and female personnel wearing the GOA skirts shall use the female dress shoes.
Meanwhile, the police personnel has now PNP athletic uniform (multi-use upper garment) with the marking "PULIS" to be worn during athletic days; Physical Fitness Test; Torch Run; Fitness Run; Fun Run; Disaster, Relief and Rescue Operations, Fatigue Duty and other similar activities.
Any PNP personnel, however, is prohibited from wearing of said t-shirt when riding in a public conveyance or vehicle.
These soft shoes and t-shirt can be purchased at Mamang Pulis Stores, which have branches nationwide. (DMC Reyes)
