Owners vow to develop passenger terminals
Owners of different perimeter boundary terminals in the city yesterday assured that they will upgrade and develop their terminals in compliance with the Perimeter Boundary Ordinance.
The assurance was made by terminal operators in yesterday's meeting called by Mayor Jerry Treñas.
The terminal owners vowed to submit their development plans on their respective terminals which include additional roofing to accommodate the passengers and cemented roadways.
The meeting was called by Treñas after he received several complaints from the commuters. The complaints include unpaved and dusty roadways and stagnant water inside the terminal compound that add more inconvenience to the riding public especially students from the municipalities studying in city schools.
Others owners have already designed their development plans and are only awaiting approval of the required permits from the City Engineers Office (CEO).
The owner of the terminal in Tagbac, Jaro has already spent some P15 million for the improvement of the Tagbac terminal. He has already purchased sacks of cement for additional development, said Treñas.
The city has three passenger terminals located at Tagbac, and Ungka, Jaro; two near Mandurriao plaza; two along the coastal road; one at Dulonan, Arevalo and one at San Pedro, Molo. Another passenger terminal will soon be established at Brgy. Camalig, Jaro.
On the proposed Brgy. Camalig terminal, Treñas said the decision whether to approve it or not depends on the Sangguniang Panlungsod.
Vallacar Transit which operates the bus line Ceres Liner applied for the putting up terminal in Brgy. Camalig, Jaro.
