Why St. Joseph School?
Educational institutions sprouted like mushrooms here in Iloilo City. Parents have plenty of schools to choose from. However, sometimes they consider the choice of their child. Allow me to share the lines of Bea Patricia Lataquin in choosing St. Joseph School (Iloilo), Inc.
"Which is better Max's or KFC?" "This chicken is gigantic and this one is too small." It has more of becoming a way of life for people to compare two completely different things and set aside which is the best choice and as nature would choose to have it, it's time to take the bull by its horns, and face the fact that it is now the perfect time to compare the quality of our school to other schools.
First, let's start on the similarities. All schools promote good education and all teachers are highly trained and students are obedient and well disciplined. But, there is a huge difference with how the school promotes education.
SJS has been more than just a sanctuary for educators and those who want to be educated. It is also a place known to promote our personalities and our attitude. This school has been more of a home for me than just a simple learning place.
This is because aside from being a great school, it has also been instilling education in a more fun and fundamental way, through which other schools just can't complete against. From enjoyable but educational games inside each one's territory, or better known as classrooms, to clubs and groups helping each Josephian in boosting their talents and raising their confidence area. SJS always has its unusual way of helping us get into the bandwagon of a proper and free willing way of enjoying education as opposed to the simple, "Do your homework or you fail in class."
Next, many of you seem to ask what really is the difference between our teachers and that of the others schools. Mainly, the difference is that, here, teachers become more than just our source of learning but also a source of friendship. This would probably cut off the need of being uncomfortable in class and would add up to the growing way of being more open and more suggestive to the teachers. Most people I know still keep in touch with their old advisers and subject teachers and actually become close friends yet still remaining respectful to them. This is probably the best quality of being friendly and being open to ideas of his or her students.
Finally, why are Josephians different compared to other students? Well, because when we are asked to do projects or plays, we do things outside of the simple instruction. We are more creative and resourceful, open to new ideas that help with the learning and we are teaching ourselves to be more responsible with our work. So are there any more questions on why SJS is the best choice for us?
Bea is upcoming Second Year high school at SJS and has performed well both in academics and in extra-curricular activities last school year.
On the other hand, summer is finally over and let us say hello to another school year. Some would feel not that excited to go back to a normal school life probably because they can't get over yet of the summer fever. But for some, excitement is evident; to meet new people especially when you're new in a school, to bond again with school friends, to wear school uniform not to mention receiving daily allowance once again.
Welcome back to school students! Your educational journey continues as the academic year 2008-2009 opens.
