This 230 meters road project has been funded under the General Appropriations Act (GAA).
At the same road section, a P12.8 million bridge has been constructed and funded by the United Kingdom (UK), Fabila said.
These infrastructure projects would form part of Odiong-Sibalom, San Remigio-Leon Road network to connect the provinces of Iloilo and Antique, the Asst. District Engineer pointed out.
The completion of these million peso projects would boost the economic and tourism activity in the upland barangays.
Vegetable farmers who are Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries will greatly benefit from these projects because it would make transporting of their products to the town proper more easy and without delay.
In the implementation of infrastructure projects linking these upland barangays, local laborers were tapped for maintaining of roadside and carriageway, thus providing local employment and livelihood opportunities in depressed areas that would lend realization to the agency's advocacy on "Tapusin ang mga Daan Tungo sa Kaunlaran", Fabila added.
